Cosmetic Dentistry

Imperfect smiles can take a toll on our self-esteem and affect the way our mouth functions. Fortunately, you have options to fix your smile!

Cosmetic dentistry can target your unique problems to enhance the look of your teeth.

Dr. Robert Arbuckle in Wilton, CT, performs all kinds of cosmetic dentistry procedures to restore your smile's appearance.

What Is Cosmetic Dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry is any dental treatment that restores the appearance of your teeth. Cosmetic dental procedures are usually optional and strictly for looks, but some procedures can also restore the structure of your tooth.

Restorative dentistry can improve the appearance of your gums and teeth, but cosmetic dental procedures can provide you with the extra boost you may need to feel completely comfortable showing off your smile.

Our cosmetic dentist, Dr. Arbuckle, takes on all kinds of cosmetic dental cases and can help you get the results you're looking for!

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are restorations that fit over a damaged tooth. Our dentist will first have to remove any damaged or decaying enamel and reshape your tooth for the crown placement. Crowns can restore your confidence and your ability to eat.

If you are missing a tooth, your crown can be supported by a dental implant. Dental implants are titanium posts that replace your tooth roots and support a dental restoration. If you need a dental implant, we can refer you to an oral surgeon, and we can fit you for a crown.

Veneers are porcelain shells that fit over the front of your tooth to conceal imperfections like chips, cracks, misalignment, gaps, discoloration, and misshapen teeth. A small amount of enamel is removed from the front of your tooth to make room for the veneer, your tooth is etched to create a better bonding surface, and the veneer is cemented in place.

A dentist can place one or several veneers, depending on your needs. According the the American Dental Association, veneers last up to 10 years on average before they will need to be replaced.

Composite Fillings

Cavities in your teeth are unsightly, painful, and must be treated by a dentist. Our dentist can remove the decayed area of the tooth and fill it with a composite material that matches the color of your tooth. This procedure can restore the appearance and function of your tooth.

Dental Bonding

Chips and cracks in your teeth can draw the eye, but your cosmetic dentist can fix them by using a special light to bond composite resin to the affected area. This dental procedure can treat many of the same imperfections that veneers can but is more affordable.

Smile Makeover

If you have a combination of dental concerns, from surface stains to structural damage, a complete smile makeover can target your unique problems and restore both the appearance and functionality of your mouth.

It may take a combination of different dentistry procedures and a few appointments to restore your smile, but our family at Wilton Dental Care can help you every step of the way. We can inform you of your options and help you decide on a treatment to fix the imperfections in your smile.

Still Not Sure
If Cosmetic Dentistry
Is Right for You?

Wilton Dental Care has smile preview software that can give you an accurate idea as to how you'd look after a cosmetic dental procedure. Dr. Arbuckle can show you just how dramatic your results will be before you commit to treatment, allowing you to make a more informed decision.

How Much Is Cosmetic Dentistry?

While your insurance will contribute to the cost of restorative dentistry, cosmetic procedures that are optional will likely have to be paid for out-of-pocket. At Wilton Dental Care, we are happy to give all patients an estimate of the cost before they begin treatment.

Our dental practice offers in-house financing so we can work with our patients to come up with a payment plan within their budget. We also accept CareCredit®, which allows patients to pay in affordable monthly installments.

I’m very grateful to Dr. Arbuckle and his staff. I came to them after some very traumatizing dental issues that were not properly taken care of by my previous dentist. They not only fixed the issues but were supportive and very understanding of the level of stress being in the dentist’s chair caused me after all my issues. Rebecca, the nurse, even held my hand so I could squeeze it if I needed a break from the procedure. Dr. Arbuckle is an amazing dentist and his staff is awesome. I would highly recommend them.
